Jan. 25th, 2007 11:00 am1.) are there differences or conflicts in our relationship that you think are racially influenced? what are they?
I'm not sure about racially influenced, and I'm not sure about conflicts, either. I do think there are differences due to background - I was raised in a large, extended, Catholic family. Most of the "adults" I have known have never even been divorced - they've been in successful monogamous marriages for decades. So in terms of relationships, I think we see things differently. But none of this strikes me as having a racial origin, and thus far, none of it has caused really major conflicts. Most of our conflicts are due to one or both of us having mood problems, or to total miscommunication (for example, on the preposition thing: I was convinced that what you were asking of me was *proof*, and that you refused to provide proof in turn, and that you were angry because you disagreed with me - in other words, I TOTALLY missed why you were upset).
2.) what's the job description of your dream job?
International conflict research, some travel, opportunity at doing some serious policy-making on peace treaties and the subsequent arrangements, working hours and salary that allow me flexibility to really care for family concerns.
Or else writing the Great American Novel.
3.) what are the top 10 places in the D.C. Metro area you haven't visited but want to?
In no particular order:
1) Civil War battlegrounds
2) Mt. Vernon
3) Ford's Theater
4) Spy Museum
5) A cemetary I heard about in Georgetown
6) Alexandria
7) bird sanctuaries
8) Shenandoah Park
9) National Portrait Gallery
10) White House (but ONLY when the current residents are gone)
4.)What are your least favorite things about living with me, Miles, and Nikki?
Cleaning up cat vomit (which I did this morning), cleaning the litter box, not knowing what mood you'll be in when I get home (for example, coming home feeling affectionate when you don't want to be around people, etc.).
5.) What do you want for dinner? ;)

Seriously, we're lucky if I get home before 1 tonight. Sigh. If I *do* manage to get home on time, I'd love to just have something prepared for me - no matter what it is. Something that includes vegetables.
