An Ode to Autumn
Nov. 9th, 2008 05:50 pmWe have a lot of fresh Spencerville Red apples. For those of you who don't know them, here is an article on the Heyser family. If you live in Maryland, you should experience these apples at least once. You'll want more.
We're going to get some of the apple cider for Thanksgiving.
We have an autumn leaves doormat and a nice little centerpiece on our table. The days have been balmy and the nights chilly. The foliage peaked about a week ago - it was an amazing year for fall colors - and I feel fortunate to be in such beautiful surroundings. There are trees everywhere here! They don't require nearly the amount of cosseting and tending when they are young that they do in SoCal, so they just grow, grow, grow.
Winter will be here soon, but I don't want it to hurry in too quickly. I love the fall.
