Update and a Very Gay Yule

My arms hurt. Crutches are flexible, but not so easy to use, it turns out. However, I now have new ones.

I forgot to post about how I had a very gay Yule. papertigers, fafou, and singsomelyrical saw to it between them. I got a copy of Boy-Wives and Female Husbands and a copy of Same-Sex Unions in Premodern Europe. Finished the first book and am about halfway through the second. The definitions of love and marriage and their cultural implications are pretty interesting. Collective cultures have far different ideas of marriage than individualist ones, and complex political systems seem to correlate with ever-more-complex marriage arrangements (prenuptial agreements? not new).

Anyhow, I am sitting here on the sofa with sore arms but two purring cats. We just watched Auntie Mame, which is a fun movie, and I should go to bed soon.
